Live auditions will not be available for 2020. Percussionists should follow our standard audition procedure outlined here.
We are aware that due to the school closures in response to the Covid-19 pandemic, access to percussion instruments is difficult for many students. Therefore, audition parts for mallets may be performed on bell kits or piano and the snare etude may be submitted on any articulate surface (tabletop, practice pad if audible, wooden board, etc). No penalty will result from using an alternate instrument.
If you record mallet parts on an electric piano, please do not use a “line-in” to your recording device. Instead, please use a microphone to record the speaker sound (and ambient room noise). Recordings on phones, ipads, etc. are acceptable.
