Parents’ Responsibilities

While symphony members are young adults, we need parents—each of you—to support our efforts to develop your child’s musical and life skills. Our hands are tied without your participation in creating consistent expectations. Following are ways that parents can help:

  • Please see that your child arrives for rehearsals and performances on time. Early is on time—on time is late.
  • Show interest in the musical study of your child.
  • Teach your child to be prepared and on time to each rehearsal or lesson.
  • Make attendance to rehearsals a priority.
  • Notify the music director as soon as possible if the member cannot make a rehearsal or performance.
  • If you have any questions about the symphony program, contact the music director. It is important to get the facts before discussing unreliable information with others.
  • Check our Support Us section to see other ways you can help the Mission Peak Wind Symphony, including volunteer opportunities throughout the year.
